POKOTABI / BROCANTE
BROCANTE
Akasaka's BROCANTE offers kissaten favorites like cream melon soda and light bites from 15:00, shifting by evening to an extensive lineup of whiskies, cocktails, and coffee.
01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Opening its doors in Akasaka at 15:00 before dusk, BROCANTE seamlessly combines the calm, nostalgic ambiance of a Japanese kissaten with the polished presence of an authentic evening bar. During the earlier hours, guests can order café staples such as a melon cream soda crowned with Handels Vägen vanilla ice cream, alongside afternoon fare like pepper cheese toast and gapao rice plates. The melon soda can also be upgraded into a spirited "adult cream melon soda" upon request, providing an adaptable pause in the middle of the day.
Lining the back counter is an extensive whisky collection spanning Islay and Island single malts, as well as Japanese classics such as Yamazaki, Hakushu, and Hibiki. Cocktails demonstrate meticulous craft, ranging from time-honored martinis and daiquiris to an espresso martini brewed with freshly ground beans per order, or the original shiso liqueur-infused cocktail "Clarence."
Slow-drip cold brew iced coffee and Mariage Frères teas served by the pot round out the beverage selection. Paired with a warm cannelé enriched with noble rot wine or homemade raisin butter, the space serves as an effortless retreat between plans or on the commute home from work.
